About
I work with women, men, and children over the age of 8 who deal with everything from ADHD, anxiety, past trauma, and life transitions to grief and loss, depression, and ongoing feelings of unhappiness. In my previous career as a special education teacher, I was moved by the overwhelming need of both the children and parents when faced with special needs, inspiring me to also become a registered play therapist. I am familiar and comfortable working with people of all ages who have physical and emotional characteristics that require unique strategies for coping. As an adoptive parent, I understand the unique attachment demands placed on families learning to navigate issues not often seen outside that setting. I also understand what it means for individuals who have to live with depression and trauma, or who struggle with problems ranging from relationship dysfunction to PTSD. It can take a lot of courage to reach out and seek help. I want to honor that effort, and invite you to connect with me in a non-judgemental and accepting therapeutic relationship.
