About

It takes tremendous courage to see a therapist. A safe environment and a trustful relationship are the first things I provide. People are complex; your ethnicity, sexuality, personality, values, and unique background will be appreciated here. I will listen to you carefully and understand you deeply. Together we will find the best way to identify and meet your needs. We will empower you from what is painful in your experience, so that you will feel more alive, have more compassion toward yourself, and create new meaning in your life. If you are a parent, I also help children with anxiety, depression, and socio-emotional development.

Licensed in CA and MA, I work with adults, adolescents and children in English and Mandarin. I provide training and supervision in the US and China. I completed my PhD from Cornell and postdoc through Harvard Medical School. I integrate mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and psychodynamics. My book for parenting and depression is available at dryiyang.com/book/.

Please feel free to contact me for an initial consultation. And take your time finding a therapist you like, who seems open-minded and non-defensive, or who you feel appreciates your unique challenges and hopes. You deserve good company for this courageous journey.
