The goal in therapy is not to erase the past but is to foster a new way of approaching the present and building the future. Whether you are struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, or some other form of suffering, the goal of therapy is to gain or regain a quality of life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and vital. Where pain can be alleviated, therapy will focus on enabling that change. Where pain is unavoidable, therapy will focus on fostering a new, more workable relationship with that pain. The goal of each of these efforts is to reorient you toward your values and, in that direction, set in motion your journey toward healing. I am a board certified clinical psychologist specializing in traumatic stress reactions and anxiety. I provide Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy, the two gold-standard treatments for PTSD. My expertise is in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and I have developed ACT programs for moral healing, resilience, and posttraumatic growth. Much of my time is spent as a psychologist for the VA North Texas and Army Reserve. In my virtual private practice, I'm available to work with folks throughout Texas experiencing the aftermath of trauma, looking to overcome anxiety and depression, or striving to live with vitality amid stress and the strain of a high tempo life.
