About

Life happens to us and sometimes it's not pleasant. Issues from our past as well as current stress has a way of affecting our moods, behaviors, and relationships. When our own attempts to cope and resolve these issues are ineffective, it may be time to seek professional therapy. I have helped many individuals overcome and manage a variety of distressing thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Common complaints include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, abuse/trauma, panic, relationship issues, anger, stress, interpersonal conflict, moodiness, grief/loss, and major life stressors.

I have specialized training in treating survivors of traumatic experiences. Trauma varies from person to person. Some common examples of traumatic events include childhood abuse or neglect, sexual or physical assault, witnessing violence, bullying, car accidents, and domestic violence. Even events in our relationships with the ones we love can be traumatic.

We know from research that the most important aspect of treatment is the relationship between the therapist and the client. I work with individuals to create safe and secure relationships where difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences can be explored. You can expect me to be non-judgmental, strength based, empathetic and evidence based in our approach.
