About

You, like all people, create narratives about yourself, others, and the world, and your psychology is made up of the stories you tell yourself. These stories provide you with maps for how to navigate relationships, both with others and with the many parts of yourself. Whether you have found yourself here on your own, or at the urging of a partner, friend, or family member, it is likely that at least one of the maps you’ve created isn't working anymore. Moving through the world with an outdated, limiting, or incomplete map might manifest as feeling anxious or depressed, interpersonal conflicts, unhelpful anger, etc.

In medicine, treatment is often uniform (i.e., antibiotics for infection), but your psychology is unique, and treatment should be tailored to you. In our first sessions, I will offer you a case formulation - an understanding of what brought you to therapy - and discuss how therapy can help. We will work as allies in catching the old maps getting in your way.

Coming here may have been difficult, and imagining next steps may cause internal conflict between a part of you desiring change and a part that feels safe with old maps. I invite you to a place where we can welcome these parts, and others, with curiosity and empathy. Let’s find out if we can work to safely update old maps and stories for lasting change.
