It is a brave decision to come into therapy and seek help and support. I am curious to explore with you who you are, what brings you to this space, and how you want to proceed in life. My approach is warm and accepting, and I draw from different theories, including psychodynamic, existential, and feminist theories. I want to get to the roots of your concerns by exploring your early history and your relationships with and reactions to the systems you are in. I believe understanding more about how your past shapes your present, as well as how oppression operates and affects you can bring about clarity, facilitate healing, and promote change. You have inherent strengths inside you, and I want to explore with you how to utilize your strengths to feel better and activate your potential. I am bilingual in Mandarin and English and am willing to offer counseling in either language. My experience living in China and moving to the U.S. has provided me with a unique cultural lens, allowing me to understand and work with individuals from different backgrounds.
