I have been been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Nevada since 1992. I hold the ACSW certification (Academy of Certified Social Workers), and the DCSW (The Diplomate in Clinical Social Work). Working in the Mental Health field since October of 1980. 38 years of experience in psychotherapy, which has included writing many programs especially for Groups which included Anger, Stress, Bipolar, Couples and most recently since 2006 for Pathological Gambling. I am well skilled and versed in using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and has a strong evidence base and practice knowledge in using REBT, Rational Emotive Behavioral therapy. We live in three worlds. Thinking, Feeling and doing. Based on Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, If you challenge your irrational beliefs and thoughts, you create new behaviors and new feelings. The tough part is challenging you and what is familiar to you. At Independent Counselors of Las Vegas believe that we create a healthy environment for therapists to do good therapy. We are client focused, starting with where the client is at, and move them to where they need to be. Truly we focus on evidenced based research.
