About

I am Wakisha Harvey, MBA, LPC, CPCS. I approach therapy from a client-centered approach with an important emphasis on the client's experience in the therapeutic space. I have been in practice for 15 years. My clinical focus is on the adolescent, adult, and couples' populations. I also focus on Christian Counseling and Professional Career Counseling. My therapeutic approach is mainly psychodynamic and psychoanalytic as the basis of my approach. I believe that the client-centered approach is very important to the therapeutic process experience to build rapport and a comfortable environment for clients.

I also utilize other therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Systems, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, depending on the client's presenting symptoms and needs.

Goal setting is an important part of the therapeutic process. The client's goals are discussed at the onset of the initial sessions to determine the needs and desires of clients as they explore the therapeutic journey. Goal setting is also used to create measurable progress with the flexibility to adjust goals as the clinical presentation changes.
