Now offering counseling appointments for pre-schoolers, children, teens & young adults for the 2024-25 school/college-year. The young people I see often have difficulty with impulsivity and self-regulation; anxiety, depression and low esteem; or are unable to focus. There may be social anxiety and feeling isolated from peers. Children can get discouraged, disappointed or frustrated at school/home, giving up and withdrawing or resorting to behaviors that hurt them or get them into trouble. Kids really do want to do well, to succeed, to please others and feel loved. It is my pleasure to be with them during this time. Parent consultations are welcomed. This is a chance for parents to convey their expectations and what they would like for their child in counseling sessions. It is also an opportunity for them to discuss behaviors they see at home and how they think the therapy is going. Individual sessions with parents are also available. I believe modern children and young people experience life at a sensory level that would confuse, exhaust and overwhelm most adults. There is a powerful connection between how a kid feels and how they act. As they begin to feel better, they can then BE better. Children of all abilities are welcomed, as are all adults of all ages.
