About

Many of us seek outside help when there has been disappointment finding a lasting relationship; and once in a relationship, some of us seek a way out! I am ready to assist you in the process of understanding yourself within relationships including those with your family of origin. Sometimes it takes a crisis of some kind or other to help us to put our concerns and need for self understanding front and center. Life transitions and the loss of loved ones benefit from the focus that therapy, whether brief or longer term, can provide. I practice yoga, always a beginner! and study Tibetan Buddhism; these also influence my work.

I have spent 35 years practicing psychotherapy and teaching part time in an MSW program. After receiving my PhD in Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology I began including more work with images, dreams, and the unconscious as part of my explorations with clients. I have an active curiosity and appreciation of the varied ways we find meaning in our lives.

My preference in beginning our collaboration is to spend 2-3 sessions in hearing the reasons you are seeking help as well as gathering background information. This gives you an opportunity to experience my style of relating. Working for a while and then returning later as issues arise is preferred by many clients in my continuing practice.
