Seeing what is true relieves anxiety and opens one up; it is freeing. Life brings profound events to us, often without our permission. Our culture and society can challenge our sense of safety and our willingness to reach out for what we need. We take it personally because it is all around us. It can be confusing to try to figure out what exactly we have the ability to change. How do we identify and then begin our own heart’s work? If you are looking for a therapist, it is most likely because you need support and new information to get unstuck, to connect, to heal, or to just get your groove back on. You are the expert on you. You are already a human doing the best you can AND you are now aware you need and want to be doing better. Therapy is an invitation to healing and growth; it can't be forced. My practice attunes to the present moment. I am a mindfulness based therapist with experience in EMDR, CBT, DBT, and other trauma-focused therapies. Impact. Activation. Experience. Sensing. (…and yes, Feeling.) These are words that come up often when doing change work. Pain—emotional, physical, and even spiritual pain, is a natural part of human experience but getting stuck in that pain is not.
