I specialize in ACT & RO DBT for adults with emotional overcontrol. My clients often struggle with excessive worry, needing certainty and order, rigid thinking, insistence on rules or routines, perfectionism, avoidance, procrastination or excessive working. Clients tend to experience discomfort with social connections, are people pleasers or have low assertiveness, have low emotional awareness and restricted emotional expression. Overcontrol may include depression, anxiety, and personality disorders (Avoidant PD, Obsessive-Compulsive PD). Treatment focuses on building psychological flexibility, valued-living & healthy relationships. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients recognize their experiential avoidance, open up to the present moment and live by their values. I am intensively trained in Radically Open DBT (RO DBT) for disorders of overcontrol. My approach incorporates kindness, first and foremost. I am enthusiastic and passionate in helping clients towards open-mindedness, exploration and accountability. My aim is to help clients gain confidence to be present, experience their thoughts and emotions, and build their social connections. Please contact me if you'd like to join the waitlist for ACT.
