Life can be stressful and complicated. Juggling daily expectations and responsibilities is challenging in itself. On top of that, we all have unique stories that largely unfolded beyond our control and to which we have adapted, sometimes constructively and other times in ways that conflict with our needs. Most of us aren’t formally taught to manage these stressors, which can result in various types of emotional pain, such as anxiety, depression and trauma. My goal in therapy is to help you develop the tools needed to understand and change the areas of your life that no longer work for you in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I work with adults and adolescents who experience various types of anxiety, depressive disorders, trauma, low self-esteem, identity related themes and relationship issues. I draw from a broad range of clinical interventions and my approach to working with you will be based on your unique needs. Together we will build on your existing strengths, using knowledge you already have to help you cope with areas of your life where you experience uncertainty, fear, sadness and other difficult emotions. The ability to find the right words to express how we feel, which is a skill we will practice, has a transformative effect on our emotional experience.
