About

As a cognitive-behavioral psychologist, I help clients understand how thoughts directly impact feelings and behaviors. Clients and I will work together to identify the automatic thoughts that accompany feelings such as anxiety, sadness, frustration, and anger. When we're anxious or upset, our thoughts are often inaccurate and overly negative, both about ourselves and others. When we start listening to our thoughts, we can replace them with more accurate and constructive ones, resulting in more positive feelings and behaviors and improved relationships.

My specialty is treating OCD. With the use of the gold standard treatment for OCD, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), we work together to develop a hierarchy of feared thoughts and situations and gradually work our way up the ladder. Clients control the pace and are often astounded by the fears they can overcome.

Through our work together, clients can gain control over difficult emotions and significantly improve overall happiness and life satisfaction. Those with anxiety or OCD can face their fears in the comfort and safety of their own home or, if useful, on a "field trip" with me to provide guidance and support.
