I am a highly trained psychotherapist with extensive experience in treating adults, children and adolescents. I have particular interest and experience in treating couples. After working for many years with couples and families in crisis, I received my postgraduate certification in child and adolescent psychoanalysis from the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, with subsequent training at the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy, the Stephen A.Mitchell Center for Relational Studies, emotionally focused couples therapy and PACT Level 1 certification. I am experienced and comfortable in treating a wide range of life problems and issues; these include mood and anxiety disorders, interpersonal and social difficulties; life stage transitions, the effect of divorce, loss, and family conflict in childhood and adulthood; and the effect of substance abuse in families. In addition I offer clinical supervision. I believe that good therapy depends on the experience and discipline of the therapist and the strength of the relationship between therapist and patient. I strive to provide an open, honest, and comfortable environment while actively helping my patients to identify and change patterns of thinking and behaving that derail development and inhibit fulfillment.
