A good therapy experience requires a safe, empathic environment which promotes self-exploration and growth. My style is interactive, balancing detailed inquiry while allowing room for full expression of the client's concerns. I question assumptions, share my observations of automatic patterns in thinking, feeling and relating to others and draw attention to experience that is being avoided. In my experience this is where sources of depression, anxiety and problems in living are found. Exploring these patterns allows us to reevaluate their present usefulness and adopt new approaches, resulting in greater freedom and flexibility in one's life. I have had extensive training and 20 years of experience working with adults on a wide range of problems in living including depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, relationship problems, work-related problems, self-defeating behavior, procrastination, self-esteem problems and gender/sexuality issues. My office is located in Midtown within close proximity to Herald Square, Madison Square Park/Flatiron district, Gramercy Park and Chelsea .
