About

I believe that healing, growth, and change are available to all people, regardless of their present circumstances or past misfortune. I use a collaborative approach to therapy, to work with clients in understanding both their challenges and their goals, and together to find ways of making positive changes along the psychological, social, and biological axes of life. I believe that no one is an island, and that there is no shame in reaching out for help. On the contrary, doing so is an indicator of strength. I seek to provide an empathetic and intellectually engaged environment to cultivate insights and promote growth.

I operate from a trauma-informed perspective: I understand that trauma can severely undermine mental health in many different ways. I am also a woman of queer, transgender experience and I love to work with members of the LGBTQ+ community. I know that mental health may be affected by systemic barriers related to many other intersections of identity as well.

I am here to help, regardless of diagnosis or your particular circumstances. I use a client-centered approach, which means I will follow your lead regarding what outcomes you want to pursue. I know it can be intimidating to reach out, especially if you are new to therapy, but I encourage you to call me for a free phone consultation. I promise I won't bite!
