I am passionate about helping individuals and couples thrive in reaching their goals by building on their strengths and identifying new and creative ways to adjust to difficult situations and circumstances. "People come for therapy not to change their past but their future." a quote by Milton Erickson inspires us to view therapy as a way to manage change. I practice an inclusive approach. I utilize a variety of accepted therapeutic techniques, but mainly utilize Reality Therapy (RT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Hypnotherapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy to help individuals become aware of the connections between their emotions, thoughts, and physical experiences. As a military veteran of 30 years, I feel uniquely qualified to treat veterans and other individuals, experiencing PTSD, utilizing trauma-reducing techniques and other mental health disorders. I believe that we all can change and have the ability to recognize and control emotional responses. My goal is to make you feel heard, understood, and empowered.
