Hello there! My name is Terri Shearer. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. With over ten years of experience treating individuals, couples, and families from a multicultural perspective, it is my honor to provide quality care to all of my clients. I specialize in treating non-traditional family units, the LGTBQ+ community, and adolescents. I enjoy working with individuals and families who are struggling with the unique challenges non-traditional families face. I have extensive training in working with adolescents and, believe it or not, I find them to be quite interesting! I believe you are the expert in your life! My role is to help you discover new ways to manage challenges by providing a safe place to explore your relationship with yourself and others. I utilize an array of techniques and therapeutic modalities which are largely determined by the goals you want to achieve in your treatment. I create a safe, calm, and empathic environment for clients to do the work they need to do. I am witty, personable, and informal in my communication style. My hope is that by allowing myself to show up as a person first and therapist second, my clients will feel comfortable being themselves throughout their work with me.
