Are you finding yourself reacting in ways you don't understand or don't know how to change? Perhaps you would like to understand yourself better in order to show up more fully and freely in your life and relationships. I help individuals to gain more awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to see their strengths as well as to change the negative patterns that keep them stuck. Often this involves examining past experiences that have led to inaccurate beliefs about themselves and others. It may also involve replacing harmful coping strategies with new, effective ways to manage stress. As an EMDR-certified therapist, I help my clients to establish a sense of safety and security, learn about the effects of trauma, understand the connection between their past and present experiences, and process through painful memories. While therapy involves dealing with heavy and difficult things, I welcome humor and lightheartedness in the process. I'm also experienced at exploring religious and spiritual issues with clients who desire to do that in therapy. I consider it a privilege to be able to accompany my clients in gently examining and healing some of the most vulnerable parts of their lives and finding a place of greater freedom and joy.
