I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) currently serving as a full-time school social worker. My experience in the field spans 30 years in a variety of educational, clinical inpatient/outpatient, agency, and hospital/emergency department settings. I enjoy working with diverse adolescent and adult populations utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused, and strengths approaches. As a school social worker, expertise includes knowledge of special education, Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans, and crisis management. My approach is rooted in starting where the individual is and providing empathic listening, guidance, and tools to take steps toward an improved mindset and overall health. Experiences shape but do not define the individual. I am a firm believer that obstacles are challenges one can overcome; and life is a journey, not a sprint. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading, and enjoying the beautiful lakes of the Midwest.
