In my 12 years as a therapist, I have primarily worked with adolescents and young adults struggling with mental health and/or substance use issues and I utilize relapse prevention and harm reduction strategies to help support individuals through their recovery, or help guide the individual through supporting a loved one struggling with addiction. Through a holistic approach towards wellness, and using cognitive-behavioral interventions, trauma-informed care, and positive psychology, I help individuals make changes to improve their behavior, mood, thinking, and well-being to identify and maximize their personal strengths. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, focusing on issues of depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, relationships, work/life balance, academic challenges, and family conflict. I have specialized training in evidenced-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe that everyone has the ability to strengthen their resilience, build their self-worth, and learn new behaviors at any point in their life, and that by reconnecting with our values we are able to create meaning in our lives which is often the antidote to many of life's challenges we face.
