As parents and children get frustrated with each other, it often results in strained relationships and exhaustion for all involved. Parents who want to better understand their children and themselves can benefit from tools and strategies to help them know how to respond in healthy ways. Play therapy techniques allow a child to express themself in a safe environment to work through difficulties. As we feel understood, we can better understand ourselves and others. I believe that all behavior makes sense in its context and as we make discoveries of the “why’s” behind behaviors, we can make strides towards strengthening relationships. As part of Chenal Family Therapy PLC, I consult with our team of therapists and psychiatrists who specialize in different issues, ensuring that all possible treatment approaches are considered. If we encounter problems outside my areas of expertise, I can provide seamless referrals, including testing and medication management, to get you the needed help.
