About

We all have the capacity to live fulfilling and creative lives, but sometimes difficult circumstances overwhelm us, or we find ourselves in painful relational patterns. I see the transformative power of psychotherapy help people make lasting changes in how they relate to themselves and others, and move beyond protective patterns that limit their capacity for satisfaction and joy.In our collaborative relationship, we will explore your inner world, and when appropriate, the impact of family, gender, culture, sexual orientation, class, temperament, current relationships, life stage, and daily stressors on you and your life.

I give direct feedback, have a sense of humor, and balance deeper, open-ended exploratory work with practical support, education, and skills-building. I work with individuals and couples of any age, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. I am particularly interested in how we balance the tensions between our needs for safety, stability and connection, on the one hand, with our needs for passion, aliveness, and autonomy on the other.

If you are looking for a therapist, you've already engaged your capacity for self-care and your aspiration for greater success in relationships, work, and creativity. It is my hope that our work together will shift habitual patterns, open up new possibilities, and help you bring more of yourself to life.
