Dr. Sylvia is a licensed psychologist with 26 years of experience helping children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and adjustment to life events. Her approach is flexible and individualized to match the unique needs of each client. She uses evidence-based techniques to help clients build problem-solving and coping skills that capitalize on personal strengths. She especially enjoys helping clients to adjust to life transitions and to develop healthy strategies for managing stressors while increasing life satisfaction. She offers parent consultation for improving parent-child relationships.

Dr. Sylvia has a specialty in medical psychology. She completed her internship and fellowship at Harvard Medical School where she helped individuals of all ages cope with their own or a family members' health crises. She received a grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health to develop a Medical Crisis Coping Clinic at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
