All my life I have been fascinated by peoples’ stories. It's been my privilege over more than forty years to hear the stories of my clients, as we meet together to understand their concerns and together develop treatment goals that will facilitate personal growth in their lives. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I see adults, both individuals and couples. Exploring family of origin dynamics and understanding the impact those dynamics may have on the client's presenting concerns allows a more thorough approach to treatment. My style is collaborative, empathic, practical, and interpersonal. Focus in therapy incorporates use of attachment theory, development of emotional boundaries, recognition of the client's resilience, and understanding the power of gratitude in one's life. I have found Brene' Brown's research on shame and vulnerability particularly useful to my clients. In addition to relationship issues and individuals' struggles with anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, clients often come to me dealing with grief and loss, including loss of a pet. I very much look forward to hearing your story.
