Hello, I am Susan. In my practice, I specialize in individual, couples, and group therapy. I work mostly with adolescents and adults of all cultures and populations to promote mental wellness. My client-centered therapy is grounded in traditional psychodynamic and family systems work, cognitive-behavioral, rational-emotive, and mindfulness-based techniques. I do my best to temper the process with creativity, imagination, and humor, along with practical solutions and concrete goals that work to provide clients with a tailored treatment plan that can be integrated into their daily life. When I am not working one-on-one with clients, I facilitate group meditation classes where I provide a safe place for those interested in the practice of peaceful introspection. In conjunction with assisting my students with finding the stillness and balance they seek, I talk in great detail about various mindfulness perspectives and philosophies. Together we will identify and challenge thought patterns and coping styles that contribute to anxiety, stress, or behaviors that hold you back in life. Throughout the process, you'll gain a better understanding of yourself, adopt new perspectives that better serve you, learn coping skills to self-soothe, and acquire tools to navigate life a little healthier.
