About

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years experience in working with individuals, families, couples and children. I have worked in mental health and substance abuse programs as well as in private practice. I work closely with ny clients on emotional issues as well as concrete issues that might include legal complications, housing needs, finances, entitlements. I ofen advocate for my client with organizations and agencies who coordinate housing, unemployment, entitlements, court support services and education. In this way I help my clients address the real life needs that often result in depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction

I work closely with clients in developing skills to communicate their needs to family, partners, children and employers and assist them in developing strategies to resolve problems. Between sessions I encouarge my clients to think of me as a coach and a cheer leader. I am available for consultation between sessions

Many people feel alone and unsupported when they face challenges that appear overwhelming. This increases depression and often results in expanding problems. Therapy becomes a vehicle to increase partnerships which will enhance the clients sense of connection to others and ability to create real and lasting change in their life
