I am an Independent Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with 20 plus years of experience. My education, license, and experience make me an appropriate candidate for you to contract with me. I embrace and integrate an individual’s spirituality within herself/himself and/or a spirituality within their faith tradition. I provide clinical counseling to adults for trauma related effects of past physical, emotional, and neglect abuse; and grief/bereavement, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse issues. My clients have been and continue to be ethnically diverse. Stress is a hurtful experience. If the stress (or similarly related stress) continues for more than 30 days it is embedded in our neural implicit memory banks. Implicit unlike explicit memories are subconscious and activate in response to present window stimuli that are the same or are similar to the past window stress. Implicit memories are re-retraumatized past hurtful experiences in the present window. We perceive, feel, and behave in the present window similar to the way we responded to them in the past. Almost all of our unhappiness and distress in our present window is in response to past window hurt memories.
