About

Seeking help to deal with issues in your life takes lots of courage. I respect that greatly. Often the first step of committing to counseling is the biggest hurdle. Whether it's relationship problems, coping with loss or transitions, anxiety, depression, self esteem concerns, there are times when professional assistance can really help. Sometimes counseling goals are accomplished quickly and other times there is a need for longer term and deeper work. I have the training and expertise to do both.

I view psychotherapy as the process of creating lasting change through the experience, knowledge and wisdom of both the therapist and client working together. My approach is to adapt what I do to the uniqueness of the individual. I also have a sensitivity to spiritual values and needs that may arise in the counseling setting.

My work is with adults 18 and older with specialties such as relationship issues, couples therapy, trauma, medical challenges, addictions and aging. I have extensive experience working with active duty and retired military members and their families. I am well versed in family of origin work, cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness training and self psychology.
