As a professional counselor licensed in 2001 and in private practice since 2003, I have enjoyed working with clients seeking healthy changes in their lives. I find that many clients already know the answers to their own questions and benefit most from collaboration on breaking through limiting beliefs and behaviors. While the decision to seek counseling can be difficult and stressful, many report that my practical, down-to-earth approach to therapy is very comforting. I provide services to adolescents and adults in individual, couples, or family settings. I will also be offering anger management group therapy in the near future. I began providing Anger Management to violent offenders in 2001 and since then with a diverse clientele in private practice. Anger management involves cognitive, behavioral, and insight oriented therapy. Clients often find improvements developed through anger management training also translate into improved emotional function in other areas of life as well. I began my therapy experience volunteering as group facilitator for Codependency/ACOA in 1989. My professional experience has ranged from providing diagnosis and treatment in the Texas prison system to serving as clinical director of an area children’s shelter.
