Most people who come to therapy are trying either to deal with a symptom-depression, anxiety, stress, etc.- or they are struggling with some relationship, or even struggling with oneself- one's own history, or a bad habit. People naturally develop strategies to deal with life, but sometimes what worked before isn't working anymore. A good therapist is always committed 100% to your best interest. Once I have earned your trust, it becomes easier to accept a new idea, a new approach, or a new strategy. Sometimes all it takes is a new perspective. Therapy always begins with your presenting problem. Together we examine your situation and then seek the best solutions for you or your relationships. Often the presenting problem quickly resolves. Most men have not had another man with whom to discuss personal matters, so I often help men individually or in a relationship. Some aspects of my work have been unique: working successfully with men, helping people enjoy and develop in the workplace where we spend so much of our lifetime, and coaching the Enneagram. Semi-retired now, I practice only part-time, but the few I see get full attention backed by decades of experience.
