I work with individual ages 16 year and older. As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, my primary focus involves working with those that struggle with sex addiction, pornography, infidelity, and the resulting difficulties. I also work closely with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. The success of the counseling process relies heavily on the establishment of a positive, safe, and non-judgmental environment by the therapist and active participation by the client. My therapeutic approach involves helping clients understand themselves as a part of the larger systems the exist within (marriage, family, work, etc.) in order to add context to thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I also utilize CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) techniques to help clients with maladaptive thought patterns that often produce anxiety. I believe it takes a great deal of courage to speak to someone about the vulnerable pieces of our lives and I never take that for granted with my clients. As a counselor, my mission is to help others realize the strength and worth they already possess and teach them to use that to better their situation. Life is certainly not meant to be lived in isolation.
