I have experience working with adults and children. In my work with children, I have helped families address ADHD, anxiety, adjustment disorders, grief, trauma and attachment concerns. In my work with adults, I have guided persons in working through depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, trauma and relationship concerns. We can work to increase your awareness of the unconscious motivations and historical explanations for your current patterns. We can also utilize techniques to help you change your negative thinking, manage stress, improve your mood, and enhance the quality of your relationships. As a therapist, I work eclectically, drawing on more than one focus or approach. We will work together, discussing or trying to understand your feelings, sorting out difficult situations or relationships or in meeting other goals you may have for therapy. I have specialized training in trauma and attachment. We can work together to achieve a better understanding of yourself and the concerns that brought you into therapy. This understanding will help you draw some connections and reveal patterns that you may not have seen before, and these new insights will likely lead you to identify some changes you wish to make.
