In my 25 years of practice as a clinical psychologist, I have worked with adults and adolescents, as well as couples and families treating issues of adjustment, self-doubt, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and marital and parenting difficulties. I believe that healthy relationships are at the center of our emotional well-being and that an empathic relationship between client and therapist is essential to any treatment relationship. I provide such an environment so my clients feel comfortable confronting and working through the challenging issues that bring them into therapy. I was educated and trained at Cornell University, New York University, and Yale University. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. My research in the areas of personality disorders and cognitive functioning has made me particularly attuned to the different ways we each approach life's challenges. In addition to seeing clients privately, I have worked as the school psychologist at a local private school. This experience had broadened my perspective on parenting and family dynamics and informs my practice.
