About

Happiness is not a steady state! All of us periodically experience situations that are upsetting, whether it is remembering something long ago, or a more recent negative occurrence. Who doesn't want to not only feel better, but truly get better? While no one is able to change history, how we think about what is distressing, whether ongoing or episodic, tends to determine how long the discomfort persists. As you may have heard, if you always think what you have always thought, you will always get what you have always gotten!

My role as a therapist is to respectfully explore what contributed to what you are feeling currently, assist with identifying and sharing as much as you choose within each session as trust is established, and explore avenues to reframe and neutralize the pain. Moreover, maximizing strengths and identifying support are important in well-being recovery.

Sessions are client centered; engagement is a privilege that is never compromised. As in all forms of healthcare, it is so important to trust the provider of care to be treated with competency and complete confidentiality in a non-judgmental setting.
