Therapy is about your vision for how you would like life to be and the person you would like to embody. Hello, my name is Shih Chiang Tang, and I am a first-generation Chinese/Taiwanese-American Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). I was raised in multiple cultures within and outside of the United States, and my therapeutic ideas reflect my diverse background. I believe in a collaborative and strength-based therapeutic approach. My goal is to utilize each individual’s innate ability to pursue a meaningful life in a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. I majorly practice through the lens of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based therapy. I am experienced in working with mood/anxiety disorders, personality disorders, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, couples and relationship issues, cultural issues, as well as gender-related topics. My primary objective as a therapist is to provide a safe, trusting, and non-judgmental environment that will support you in shaping your life and yourself. While life is often faced with challenges and dilemmas, it also holds great potential for meaning and purpose. I am excited to help you find and foster that meaning and purpose.
