Anchored in a strong belief in human resilience, Shannon meets each client where they are, guiding them to connect with their own courage, insight, and wisdom. She is a trauma-informed counselor, helping clients to understand how their life experiences have impacted them while empowering them to envision and create a new future. Shannon believes that you are the expert in yourself, and sees herself as a guide to connect you with your own inner wisdom. She has worked extensively with diverse populations and is an LGBTQ+ friendly therapist. Shannon draws from several psychotherapeutic approaches to support clients’ growth and strengthen their coping skills. She is especially passionate about helping clients to process childhood trauma, and utilizes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as one way to help clients gain more freedom and vitality in their lives. Shannon emphasizes an empowerment approach – it’s “normal” to have periods of challenge, and it’s okay to ask for help! She views each client holisitically, as both a product of and a co-creator of their reality. Whether it is your first time with a counselor or you are seeking something different, she will create a safe space to speak your truth.
