Hi there! My name is Shannon Skahan and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) offering telehealth therapy for clients located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. I received my master's degree from the University of Chicago and have provided individual short-term and long-term therapy within higher education mental health, inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings, group private practice, and a a county jail throughout my career. It is an honor to bear witness to the experiences my clients share during our work together, and I employ a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach throughout treatment. In our first session together we'll meet for about an hour. This time will help us to get to know each other and explore goodness of fit for ongoing care. We'll start by going over general housekeeping related to confidentiality, administrative policies, and availability. I consider myself a compassionate, kind, and thoughtful provider. I also approach each session as if my client were in the driver's seat while I gently provide navigational cues/support in the passenger seat.
