Welcome! My name is Shannon Chia Ngong, and I am glad you are here. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and I provide client-centered counseling to adults and young adults. My approach is grounded in varying modalities including person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness. I am passionate about meeting people where they are in their own individual stories and helping them journey towards healing and growth. I specialize in areas of identity, grief, depression, trauma, anxiety, spirituality, self-esteem, and relationships. Social work is a calling for me because of my personal story, which inspires me to help individuals from all walks of life, who are looking for someone to journey with them. I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work from Grand Valley State University and my Master of Social Work degree from Spring Arbor University. I have experience working in the child welfare system and supporting families and youth navigating the foster care system. In addition, I have personal and professional experience mentoring and counseling teenagers and college students navigating life transitions.
