I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma or mental illness that may have contributed to problematic substance use. I am passionate about working with individuals who want to grow and change their lives. I push back against the stigma society attaches to mental illness and substance use, championing the belief that we all do the best we can to survive and connect with others. At the same time, I recognize that the coping skills we develop are not always sustainable and can cause other problems in our lives. My education and experience have prepared me to address the unique difficulties of co-occurring mental illness and substance use. I am a compassionate provider who focuses on Mindful Self-Compassion (a powerful tool for emotional resilience), self-forgiveness (allowing and learning from past mistakes), and self-efficacy (creating the changes you want). I approach therapy with the conviction that understanding ourselves and our past experiences can uncover where and how our current challenges began. Through this work, I will guide you toward rediscovering yourself, identifying what you want, and building the skills and habits to pursue a life that brings you joy, peace, and fulfillment.
