"Let go of who you think you are supposed to be and embrace who you are." -Brene Brown It is often our own misconceptions who we are "supposed to be" and unrealistic expectations of ourselves that get in the way of our own personal growth. We tend to overlook our strengths and struggles while giving so much weight to these perceived failures. We think of happiness as a destination to get to, unpack our bags, and live there "happily ever after." I will work with you to untwist these unrealistic, unhelpful ways to view our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Our behaviors have a purpose if we look close enough without judgement. My style of therapy is different from client to client as there is no "one size fits all" approach to working with unique individuals and their struggles. I like to start with asking what the client's goals are and set up a treatment plan from there. I pull in from evidenced-based psychotherapy practices and utilize patients strengths to build coping. Building a relationship and a space of trust and comfort is my upmost goal in starting to work with clients. Working through long standing struggles and traumas are not easy roads to navigate. I will walk with you along this journey and give you support along the way. Often there are many strengths within ourselves we are not recognizing.
