I ideally want to work with children, particularly adolescents with trauma histories. I'm open to working with adults, though my experience is mainly with children. I am a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist with a Master's degree in mental health counseling and dance/movement therapy. I have been able to use movement in various ways in the therapeutic process. One way that it can be used is to help children express themselves and to feel heard. When words don't quite say what the client is trying to convey, movement can fill in the blanks and help share the feeling that is needing to be expressed.
Self-expression and safe avenues to express oneself can be empowering for those with diagnoses or trauma histories. I integrate art and music into therapy, using CBT, DBT, and SFBT techniques. I also draw from humanistic approaches. Collaborating with each client, we co-create the treatment, ensuring it aligns with their unique needs and goals.
I have a love for dance, music, art, and nature. I enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds and cultures!
