My name is Sarah Schorr, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and family Therapist in the Los Angeles, CA, area. I was trained in the school-Based Family Counseling program at Cal State Los Angeles, so I approach my work with individuals, couples, and families with a systems approach. I work primarily with individuals (adolescents and adults) to address issues stemming from stress, anxiety, trauma, and depression. I vary my approach to meet the needs of my clients. Still, I utilize humanistic, systemic, and multicultural counseling theories in conceptualizing where the presenting issues arise and how to address them. I find that it is most helpful to my clients when we can identify and work on both and internal dynamics that contribute to the presenting problem. I have always liked helping others and have worked in a variety of youth and service-oriented fields. It was not until I went to my own therapy that I understood that this was how I wanted to be of service to others. It requires a lot of courage and vulnerability to let someone else see you as you try to change. It is an honor and a pleasure to see clients working on becoming the best versions of themselves.
