About

"Relationships and how we communicate are the two most important things in our lives." -- I am totally committed to improving communication and relationships. -- I believe communication is often more at the core of quality relationships than digging into our deep, dark, past issues.-- Research and years of my own experience clearly show that effective therapy is not a set of skills or techniques, but a way of being. Our here & now experience is the fuel of therapy. One more tidbit:Therapists are like shoes. You have to try some on before you find one that fits.

EXISTENTIALISM is my theoretical perspective. It is not a set of skills or techniques, but a way of being.I focus on the givens of existence: Death, Isolation, Meaning & Freedom. I also focus on our denial of the givens of existence and then how we deny that we deny.

"It's the relationship that heals" -- i.e. the therapist's way of being with the client.I see the client as who they really are -- that is: bigger, more powerful and healthier than they see themselves. When I hold the space for that, the client can become it.
