Roslyn has over 25 years of post- graduate work experience and professional commitment to the overall wellness of her clients with a specific interest in the MH needs of people of color and members of disenfranchised communities in our society. She has clinical experience working with clients across a variety of treatment settings—family court; group homes; a college counseling center; substance abuse treatment program; inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities and jails. Relying on a humanistic and strengths-based approach to therapy, Roslyn utilizes psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, EMDR, and cognitive therapies when working with clients. She works with people with a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, and the negative impact of systemic racism, economic/ social/ gender and gender identity oppression Roslyn believes that creating a welcoming, trusting and affirming environment for her clients is the cornerstone of building a successful therapeutic relationship. Her practice is guided by the words of Nelson Mandela: “If you talk to a man in a language that he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language that goes to the heart".
