For almost 40 years, I have been helping clients deal with, and resolve a wide range of problems including anxiety, depression, relationship, and interpersonal difficulties. Originally trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, with additional training in clinical hypnosis, my approach is eclectic, utilizing psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral and supportive techniques. Treatment is based on an assessment of which approach would be best suited for a particular person and problem at that time.Additionally, I have expertise in working with health and wellness issues. Over the years I have assisted clients and their loved ones dealing with medical problems, life threatening illnesses, chronic ones, and bereavement issues. Clinical hypnosis can be used by itself or adjunctively with other therapeutic techniques to successfully treat anxiety, prepare for surgery and cope more effectively with medical issues, for smoking cessation, weight management and other specific problems. I believe that therapy is a partnership between client and therapist. Trust is an essential ingredient. My job to help individuals recognize the strengths they already have and provide a safe and nurturing enviornment to discuss their deepest concerns, ultimately resolving whatever is standing in the way of achieving goals and a happier life.
