The goal of therapy is to enable people to have richer and more satisfying lives. I match my approach to the person I'm seeing, offering both short-term, pragmatic, solution-oriented therapy, and longer-term treatment that involves complex historical material and ingrained self-defeating patterns. I think of therapy as an opportunity to learn better ways to live and thrive in the present. I use a combination of approaches including EMDR, AEDP, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and longer-term work to change recurring patterns. I also have extensive training, experience, and success working with couples that want to learn communication skills and be more satisfied with their intimate relationship. I am particularly interested in helping couples with the transition to parenthood. A happy marriage is the best gift you can give your baby. I've been helping individuals, couples and families for 40+ years. I have served as the President of the Marin County Psychological Association and was a Member of the Board of Directors of the California Psychological Association. I am a Gottman Certified Educator in the "Bringing Baby Home" program.
