About

I've been involved in the behavioral health field over 30 years working with children and adults. In that time, I have become acquainted with numerous types of treatment. I've seen many positive responses to these techniques but have also heard clients state how the reality of their lives did not always fit the mold of some approaches. This "fitting a square peg into a round hole" has been an issue for some clients in previous treatment. Though issues people experience can be common to others, they are also specific to the individual. This makes more generalized treatments difficult.

I believe in a simplistic/reality based approach to therapy. I prefer to look first at the simplest explanation to a problem as it exists in realistic expectation to a given situation. I also believe the questions we ask are important, as only then will we find the right answers.

I have found my approach to be quite effective. Though I still use many traditional means (including trauma techniques), I also incorporate my own philosophies in relation to the specific needs of the individual, family, or group. In doing so, I have seen much success with children, adolescents, and adults.
