My theoretical orientation is varied depending on your needs. I help you to formulate your therapy goals in a collaborative fashion. Although therapy can be distressing at times, I often use humor to decrease distress and increase coping skills.In addition, I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) techniques to build resources for positive coping skills. EMDR can help you face uncomfortable emotions, such as anxiety or depression, and reprocess traumatic memories. I have experience in working with individuals, women's issues, grief, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, sexual abuse survivors, and multicultural counseling. I'm centrally-located, just south of downtown Austin. Easy access to Mo-Pac and Hwy. 290 and Hwy. 360. I have a down-to-earth, friendly style, that helps people to feel comfortable and accepted.
